Charity
Life isn’t all about engineering however much our organisation depends upon it. The team at City Surveys & Monitoring understands the importance, not simply of their work, but also of helping the wider community.
Every year we try to support at least two worthy causes that tug on our heart strings, this year was no exception. Should you also wish to support either of the causes below please contact our office and we will put you in touch with the correct person.
The Long Way Round Britain (2008)
City Surveys & Monitoring is proud to be the principal sponsor of The Long Way Round Britain, a charity motorcycle ride around the coast of Britain covering a distance of approximately 3,500 miles. A number of motorcyclists have joined forces with the intention of completing this arduous journey in only five days with all funds being donated to St John Ambulance, helping them to carry on their good works up and down the country.
Sepilok Orangutan Appeal UK (2008)
The Orangutan, which can now only be found on the tropical islands of Sumatra and Borneo, is currently listed as critically endangered and is predicted to be extinct in the wild within the next ten years. This is primarily due to rapid deforestation by the soya and palm oil industries but also due to the illegal pet trade.
City Surveys & Monitoring is sponsoring Louisa Stretton, a zoology graduate from the University of Liverpool, to visit Borneo and work with the Sepilok Orangutan Appeal UK to help ensure the future survival of this most precious of species. By creating a sponsored calendar for this hugely worthwhile cause and through covering all associated print and design costs, we went a long way towards bringing Louisa’s dream significantly closer to reality.
