Land Surveyors

So what exactly is a land surveyor? In the most basic terms, land surveyors are needed when either a simple or detailed plan of an area is required.

The origins of land surveying date back to Egypt in around 3000BC with the ancient Britons believed to have employed simple geometry to ‘set out’ Stone Henge. As a profession, however, land surveying was not formally established until the time of the Romans in approximately 300AD with further major advancements taking place during the 18th and 19th Centuries in mainland Europe.

City Surveys & Monitoring’ UK-wide teams of land surveyors provide their service to the very highest standards possible. Do you need to make changes to your site or check its suitability for development? Our land surveyors are perfectly suited to measuring and recording the information you require, delivering comprehensive topographic surveys and reports that can help advise your architect, planner or contractor throughout the process.

City Surveys & Monitoring’ land surveyors deliver an extensive range of land surveys for all manner of different applications. A land survey can help when you need to…

  • Determine the physical boundaries of your property in relation to others
  • Nail down your legal rights and obligations
  • Update the deeds to your property
  • Develop an existing property or plot of land
  • Re-mortgage your property
  • Settle a boundary dispute between neighbours

Unlike many of our competitors our land surveyors work in both the field and the office processing their own CAD work. Many firms employ separate departments; one of land surveyors and one of CAD technicians. The advantage of this is purely financial in that the land surveyors can finish one survey and move straight on to another. Unfortunately, should there by a query during the CAD processing stage the technician will have little if any knowledge of the site and may therefore have to make an assumption or, indeed, a mistake.

City Surveys & Monitoring Land Surveyors pride ourselves not only on the quality of our land surveys but, crucially, on the quality of our customer service. We’re not only accredited to ISO9001:2008 for quality assurance, we also tailor our land surveys to the exact requirements of our clients and according to the environment that they operate within. Perhaps your organisation has a specific drawing layout that you like to use or maybe, a unique series of line types or even a bespoke code list? Perhaps you like certain key features picked up that other firms would see omitted or maybe you like to use your very own system of layering within CAD… City Surveys & Monitoring Land Surveyors starts every job with the assumption that each client has their own series of unique requirements and we won’t start on site until we know exactly what these are.

City Surveys & Monitoring’ land surveyors are trained to process their own work immediately after completing the survey. As a result they approach the task with excellent site knowledge and inevitably produce a superior quality drawing.

We have highly qualified and experienced surveyors based throughout the UK ready to take on your project. For more information on our land surveyors or, indeed, any of the services they can deliver, why not call our office on 0151 726 8334? A member of our team will be happy to assist.
