From plain line to S&C, our highly-skilled team possesses the capability and experience to complete any track survey regardless of size or complexity. Personnel

Our dedicated Rail Department is headed up by our Managing Director, Richard Furlong. A railway surveyor and technical engineer with over 20 years of experience surveying, maintaining and installing the nations’ railway infrastructure, Richard leads a team of seasoned project managers, all of whom also have 20+ years’ experience in the same field.

This management team controls a workforce of over 40 professional railway track surveyors, all PTS qualified and all backed up by an office team of SSOW and Possession Planners, Resource and Delivery Managers and HSQE and Rail Coordinators, delivering much needed support, safety and compliance services.

Working primarily on the Network Rail infrastructure, a number of our team are also qualified to work on both London Underground (LUL) and Docklands Light Railway environments with all teams backed up, where necessary, by our in-house COSS and Lookout personnel.

Fast, efficient service

Our business is based around service quality, flexibility and speed. We work with you to deliver the results you need, when you need them.

Technology

By combining highly-trained personnel with the very latest in rail track survey equipment, we ensure maximum productivity whilst maintaining accuracy and safety in the process. From cutting-edge track measuring devices (TMD – otherwise known as track measurement trolleys) to robotic total stations and precision laser-scanning instruments, our fleet of surveying equipment undergoes constant investment. Regularly updated, maintained and added to, our fleet is amongst the most modern and advanced in the UK.

By combining the very latest advancements in measurement technology with tried and tested methodologies it’s often possible to obtain vital information remotely, carrying out railway track surveys without the need to physically gain access to Network Rail land. Not only does this deliver significant savings in terms of both time and cost, these methods of working naturally deliver significant safety benefits, minimising the requirement for track access and closures whilst reducing the need for safety critical staff in the process.
